CAROLINA W.-SMARTER NOT HARDER
HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER
CUT/STYLE by ALESSANDRA SAMAN
If you’re going for a change in your cut beyond a trim, a lot of times it’s best to do the cut first and then color. Why? Well, work smarter not harder for one. Cutting first will determine highlight placement, save time, and not waste product. Why do all this color and highlighting if you’re just going to have it cut off? For two, you want the cut to enhance the color and the color to enhance the cut. Most importantly, the cut and color should be a collaboration.
Since Carolina was going to lose a few inches we decided it’d be best to do a quick dry cut first so that I was able to tip her ends out to make them a bit brighter and not have my work cut off. Once I was finished with her base and highlights, Alessandra completed Carolina’s cut and polished her look with a smooth blowdry.

IVANA DUNKANOVIC-THE DEEPER THE BETTER
HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER
CUT/STYLE by ALESSANDRA SAMAN
Ivana was due for a good clean up on her hair. A proper cut to remove the sparse ends made her hair look fuller and the deepening of her base brought out the richness to her color. A small clean up can make a big difference.
Love this song!
Here’s Athena! Starting with long going short and her last visit I took her hair shorter!! So cute! Get ready for summer girls!
KELSEY FAIRHURST-ROOTS BEGONE
HAIR COLOR by SARAH CONNER
CUT/STYLE by ALESSANDRA SAMAN
Kelsey hails from Ohio and had been in LA on an internship and wanted to return home with a new do. Simply letting her hair grow for months without a touchup gave her a pseudo ombre with a harsh line of demarcation. Our first step was to erase that line and add a bit of warmth to her natural base to connect it to her mids and ends. I then added some brightness and dimension by tipping her out. Now her look is more cohesive and has a flow to it. Perfect low maintenance and a return to the midwest.
